Terrorizing (Or Terrified) Rice Krispie Monsters

Part of Halloween’s popularity is we all get to be kids again. Which includes playing with our food and eating nostalgic cookies and candies. And what’s more nostalgic than Rice Krispie treats? For awhile these were off-limit to vegans (most marshmallows contain animal gelatin), but vegan marshmallows are becoming easier and easier to find. One… Read More ›

“Listen! The wind is rising, and the air is wild with leaves … We have had our Summer Evenings, now for October Eves!” – Humbert Wolf On my Autumn bucket list: Make soup! There is nothing more comforting as a bowl of hot soup on a chilly day. Ok, maybe a bowl of hot soup… Read More ›

Candy Corn Fruit Parfait

Candy Corn Fruit Parfaits (Vegan, Gluten-Free)

Candy Corn Halloween Parfaits have been around for decades! This is my much healthier, vegan version. It uses no animal products and substitutes good-for-you, tropical-tasting coconut yogurt in place of fatty whipped cream or ice cream. It’s an easy, cheap, fun, and festive to way to sneak another serving of fruit into your family’s diet. The tropical island flavors are also very refreshing if you’re getting a little tired of apples and pumpkin spice!
