Vegan Thanksgiving Options In Charlotte: Fern, Flavors From the Garden

11/17/13 – UPDATED POST:  Fern has provided me with pictures of this year’s Thanksgiving offerings!  They have also extended their pre-oder date to Saturday, November 23!

For several years now Charlotteans have also been thankful for Fern, Flavors from the Garden … without a doubt Charlotte’s most elegant vegetarian/vegan restaurant.  It is truly a foodie destination.

For this year’s Thanksgiving preorder menu, the talented Chef Drew has come up with a butternut squash gratin with parsnip and celery root in a caramelized onion bechamel, topped with an oatmeal crust. The gratin comes with sides of braised greens risotto and roasted brussel sprouts with shiitake mushrooms. Is your mouth watering yet?  The whole meal is vegan and priced at $16.95 per person.

Fern will also be offering their famous carrot cake with coriander cream cheese frosting (all vegan as well), as a 2 layer 9 inch round for $24.00. It serves approximately 8.

In case you’re not familiar with Fern, here’s a couple of pictures of items from Fern’s Spring menu.  (Sorry, I have not tried out their new Fall menu yet – but I will!). For more information, check out this review of Fern.
