Happy Friday! It’s a gorgeous Carolina day – blue skies, invigorating temps, red and gold leaves everywhere.
It finally feels right to start thinking about the holidays.
So this weekend, we’re going to talk about holiday food planning and your many vegan food options in Charlotte.
First up, Bean, the friendly little restaurant specializing in all-vegan comfort food. For the third year, Bean offers two options: dine in the restaurant on Thanksgiving, or preorder and pick up.
If you choose to dine in, the restaurant will be open from 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM. For $25 you’ll get a full, traditional Southern feast, including:
- Acorn Squash Curry Soup
- Olive Walnut Dip
- Holiday Loaf with Dressing
- Mashed Potatoes and Gravy
- Roasted Root Vegetables with Rosemary
- Roasted Sweet Potatoes with Brown Sugar
- Green Beans
- Braised Cabbage
- Cranberry Sauce
- Garlic Cheddar Biscuits and Cornbread
- Dessert
- Coffee, Sweet Tea, Un-Sweet Tea or Pepsi Products
Bean does have a selection of vegan wines and beers, but alcohol is extra. Also, please remember to tip your server and show your appreciation for their hard work on Thanksgiving!
But what if you only need a main – or a couple of sides, or just a show-stopper dessert? You can place a pre-order as late as 7:00 PM Monday, November 24th, and pick up your order by 4:00 PM Wednesday, November 26th. A la carte items range from Bean’s house made cheeses, to Holiday Loaf, to a variety of side items and pies and cakes. New this year to the menu are Green Bean Casserole and Mixed Berry Fruit Cobbler.
Don’t forget, all-vegan Market At Bean is open and located in the back of the restaurant! Stock up on your holiday baking essentials!
Coming up this weekend: Vegan Thanksgiving Food offerings from Fern, Flavors from the Garden; Eco-Licious; Nourish; Zizi’s; and more!
I would totally go to Bean if I were local! Here, we have a restaurant called Green that’s offering a “ThanksLIVING” dinner: http://greenvegetarian.com/thanksliving — plus a few other restaurants are opening their doors to vegan meetups for the holiday.
That’s awesome! And I loooove the term “Thanksliving!”
Yum that looks awesome!
